Carnival Phantasm Season 1 First Press (First Look, Blu-ray, Japan)

Nur auf Englisch!

It wasn’t easy to order this BD/DVD-Set because it wasn’t offered at any shop that ships internationally, but it was worth the relatively high price^^.

The artbook is just shrink wrapped with the artbook and has more or less the same dimensions. The Blu-ray / DVD digipack is protected by a printed plastic slipcase.

We ordered from Animate and their preorder bonus was a post card:

As far as I know there were only postcards as pre-order bonus.

Then there’s some promotional stuff:

As 16 pages booklet is also included:

And, of course, the Type-Moon 10th Aniversary Art Book „catalogue“. It includes illustrations from their different franchises like Tsukihime, Kara no Kyoukai, Fate/stay night and also some that they created for other companies and their series, e.g. Canaan, Kannagi, Nanoha, Natsu no Arashi or Nadia.

There are about 253 colored pages in this book so it is really complete artbook. The semi-matte paper is also quite good.

BD Info

There 4 episodes on the disc with a total runtime of 0:56:20.

Picture Quality / Audio Quality:

It looks a little bit soft but thanks to the high bitrate it looks overall really good for this kind of show. I didn’t here any problems in the stereo mix.

Menu Shots:

The menu does offer only some basic animation in the background, but I really like the popup menu^^.

Bonus Material:

The only on-disc extra is an audio commentary called „Oshiete! Ciel-sensei commentary“.
